Morgan's Wonderland Event Center

On October 13th, The Arc of San Antonio will host the 29th Annual Achiever of the Year Awards Banquet at the Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center.  Achiever Awards are given to children or adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities who have reached a major goal such as learning a new task, getting a job in the community, or improving their social skills.  Achievers are nominated by local nonprofits and group homes that serve people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Bexar County.  To learn more about the 2010 Achiever of the Year Award winners and their nominating organizations, visit http://www.arc-sa.org/achievers.htm.

Special Education 101 is an overview of federal and state law governing public school, special education procedures. Child and parent rights are discussed along with referral processes and practical tips for securing an appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.


The cost for the training is $25.00*

and participants receive:

*The Resource Guide for Children with Special Needs

*It’s A New Idea (a 60 page Special Education Manual)


Individuals may qualify for a 50% scholarship with appropriate proof of hardship
